The Zeus ST75ZF PSU incorporates four +12V rails (+12V1, +12V2, +12V3, and +12V4). The following tables show what connectors are supplied by each output in 2.0 (this review) and older 1.0 versions of SilverStone Zeus ST75ZF Power Supply.
What is different in +12V rail distribution?
- 12V 4-pin ATX adapter connects to EPS 12V 6-pin as opposed to EPS 12V 8-pin in v1.0 and now uses +12V3 as opposed to +12V1 and +12V2
- 1 PCI-Express moved from +12V3 to +12V2
AC Input Characteristics
AC Input Voltage, Frequency and Current (Rating: 100V-240Vac, 47-63Hz, 12-6A)
The power supply must operate within all specified limits over the input voltage range in Table below.
Harmonics distortion of up to 10% THD must not cause the power supply to go out of specified limits.
Protection
Protection circuits inside the power supply shall cause only the power supply's main outputs to shutdown. If the power supply latches off due to a protection circuit tripping, either an AC cycle OFF for 15 sec, or PSON# cycle HIGH for 1 sec must be able to restart the power supply. The PSON# signal is required to remotely turn on/off the power supply. PSON# is an active low signal that turns on the +5V, +3.3V, +12V and -12V power rails.
SilverStone Zeus ST75ZF has the following protections:
- Over Current Protection
- Over Voltage Protection
- Short Circuit Protection
- No Load Operation
Over Current Protection
This power supply shall have a current limit to prevent the +5V, +3.3V, and +12V outputs from exceeding the values shown in table 14. The current limit shall not trip under maximum continuous load or peak loading as described in Table 5. The power supply shall latch off if the current exceeds the limit. The latch shall be cleared by toggling the PSON# signal or by cycling the AC power. The power supply shall not be damaged from repeated power cycling in this condition. The -12V and +5VSB outputs shall be shorted circuit protected so that no damage can occur to the power supply.
Over Voltage Protection
Power supply shall shut down in latch off mode when the output voltage exceeds the over voltage limit.
Short Circuit Protection
The power supply shall shut down in a latch off mode when the output voltage is short circuited.
No Load Operation
When the primary power is applied, with no load on any output voltage, no damage or hazardous conditions shall occur.
